"Tubercule" in this case is support of antenna. Both species have no tubercule on elytra.
I send you the revision from Breuning (text in French). |

And I did not understand this quote:

Yes, it should be Aconodes affinis (Breuning, 1940) : key (Breuning,1950) talks about " tubercules antennifères très élevés " .

For Breuning, the other species from south India - Aconodes subaequalis (Aurivillius, 1922)- is shorter and has down tubercula (holotype here) |
