However, the exact spelling for this species is Metaegosoma annamense (Pic, 1930). |

Just a little up on this topic to confirm the taxonomie of the right specimen from Pia Oac.
It's definitly a female of Metaegosoma annamensis.

As you can see on the picture above, the female of A. katsurai (left) features shorter antenae, the pronotal shape is clearly different and a longitudinal sutural costae is present on elytrae of annamensis (does'nt exist on katsurai elytrae).
Space between eyes is wider on annamensis.
In addition, I don't see any groove on third antenal segment of the right specimen. |

The Pia Oac (Cao Bang) specimen should be Aegosoma katsurai with grooved (inner side) of third antenna segment, |

Perhaps this is one pair of the same species??? From Vietnam also. Male from Kontum and female from Pia Oac.

According to Komiya, Z. & A. Drumont, 2012. Description of a New Genus Close to Aegosoma (Coleoptera, Cerambycidae, Prioninae), (Revisional Studies of the Genus Megopis sensu Lameere, 1909-11), Elytra, Tokyo, New Series, 2(2): 181-187, it is Metaegosoma annamensis (Pic, 1930). |

The species illustrated here looks like Aegosoma annamensis. Fluffy hairs...In case somebody is interested in photos of further specimens and the description, please write me a PM.

The strange structure of the pronotum is due to wet hairs on Hexapoda's photo. |
