Yes, you are perfectly right, in fact, after checking a female of Aplagiognathus on my database, I get back to Mallodonopsis but I answered to quickly and made a mistake with my first picture..
So Mallodonopsis mexicanus female.
here a female to confirm...

But why did you decide that this is Aplagiognathus spinosus?
It seems to me more like a female Mallodonopsis mexicanus (Thomson, 1860)
