This Rhaphipodus from central Sulawesi (Palolo) doesn't fit the description of R. sarasinorum, which has a strong punctuation on elytra. In addition, the lower edge of the pronotum is not spiny such as the sarasinorum one and the size is larger (67 mm vs 50 mm for sarasinorum). Strangely, it seems to be close to R. wallacei (the right one see here) erroneously labelled from Sri Lanka on this site.
So, it could be an other species and if somebody own a specimen from this country with these features thank you to advice me. |

Posted - 03/01/2018 : 11:25:41 New species published: Rhaphipodus celebensis Ripaille & Drumont, 2017. I will add a picture of a Paratype (male and female) in the relevant section.
The specimen presented by Francesco belongs to the species Rhaphipodus sarasinorum Lameere, 1912. |
