Male of Dorysthenes (s. str.) rostratus (Fabricius, 1792), a species widespread in India and Ceylon.
Here another male specimen of the gallery.
The subgenus Dorysthenes (s. str.) is characterised by that prosternal appendix and a single lateral tooth at each side of the prothorax; if three teeth are present, the species belongs to the subgenus Dissosternus.
