During May and June I was absent from the Forum since I was in Greece for my usual entomologic /touristic travel.
I had the opportunity to collect a certain number of Cerambycids, most of them new for the Forum.
Now, I present you a species common in Italy and in the Mediterranean France, but still absent from the Forum:
Morimus asper asper (Sulzer, 1767), Phrissomini
Greece, Peloponnese, Lakonia, Mt. Taygetos, 26.V.2014
The specimen misses the elytral spots; thus, it looks very close to M. a. verecundus. |

I have got this species in my collection, but it is not different from M. asper asper except for the less visible elytral spots... actually, it exactly corresponds to this Greek specimen.
There is no reason to consider it as a distinct species. |

Nice meeting...We have also M.asper in Bretagne 
Have you seen that for Titan database Morimus verecundus (Faldermann, 1836) is a "good species" ? |
