I agree; however, the 3 (or x) -shaped ochreous pattern is analogue.
Beside albosetosus, only N. ochreosignatus (Heller, 1921) from the Philippines has a similar pattern, but it is a bit smaller (14 mm).

The size of my specimen is 18mm x 5.5mm, close enough to the 17mm x 5mm of N. albosetosus.
Attached below is the figure of N. albosetosus in Heller 1923.
The white pattern seems different, and the elytral apex looks quite acuminate (though the text said "acuminate-truncate") .

No problem.
I can confirm Notomulciber. The closest species seems to be N. albosetosus (Heller, 1923) (possibly here).
What is its size?
I suggest you to check the type or, at least, the original publication, which contains a picture.

It is probably a Notomulciber, like this species, but a different one.
It is not the only species present in Malayan peninsula (N. biguttatus Pascoe) but it should be examined by both sides in order to know whether it is new. |
