37.92 KB

7mm from pine plantation near Bi Doup NP,

While I found no cerambycids on the pines that were being cut in the plantation, there were several on the shrubs at the edge of the pine planting.

Maybe they were attracted by the terpenes being produced by the cut pines?

Yes, I agree JP, although it is different than P. langana from N Vietnam (first trip, 2013).

OK, I found the 1975 Breuning revision, and in his key, the only species with black elytra is P. nigripennis Breuning.

I think to Pseudanaesthetis...

This looks very different to me from Falsoserixia, the punctures on the pronotum are much fewer and deeper and the hairs on the pronotum are very long.

It also looks different from the picture of Gressitt's type of Terinaea in the Chinese book.

It would be helpful if I could see the type of Pic's species.

Thanks,

Larry B.

Interesting observation.

Your specimen(s) look like Terinaea rufonigra Gressitt but head is black.
Look also for Falsoserixia rubrithorax Pic (both species are in the Forum).
