Due to the vertical shape of the forehead, we can assume that this beetle belongs to Lamiinae; the scape without cicatrix might mean Pteropliini or Apomecynini. Any idea concerning its size? |

Hi Francesco, I have another image here, also taken with the MP-E65. I didn't take a full body shot because it was too big to completely fit into my MPE65's minimum magnification of 1:1. Really can't remember the size...maybe 4 to 5 cm? |

After considering the species present in the Malayan peninsula, it might be Niphona (s. str.) vicina Gahan, 1895, a species closely related to N. plagiata White. In this topic Gyula posted a female (a bit damaged dorsally). |
