Je poste cette espèce pour confirmer le nom, celui-ci serait pour moi Oplatocera (Epioplatocera) chujoi Hayashi, 1982. |

Bonjour Gérard,
il y a beaucoup de confusion sur ce genre et le Web alimente ça.
Oplatocera (Epioplatocera) chujoi Hayashi, 1982 a été décrite des Philippines et est aussi l’espèce mentionnée comme O. oberthuri par Hüdepohl (1990) dans sa révision des cérambycinés des Philippines.
Ceci est son aspect:
Oplatocera (Epioplatocera) chujoi Hayashi in Hüdepohl, 1990
L'espèce présent au Bornéo devrait être Oplatocera (Epioplatocera) shibatai Hayashi, 1977.
L’espèce dans la gallery doit elle aussi changer de nom. |

This comment is from my catalog on Bornean Cerambycidae. I will let you make up your minds as what you wish to call it.
7) Based on tentative identification. Specimens of Oplatocera, from Sabah, which were examined by Mr. Holzschuh, are not O. shibatai, but are possibly O. chujoi. Since Mindanao and Borneo have very few species in common, it is possible that the species from Sabah is a new taxa. There is also a good probability that O. shibatai will be found elsewhere in Borneo, but for now I prefer to exclude it from the fauna.
For now, these are labelled as O. chujoi in my collection. I don't have any specimens of Oplatocera from the Philippines or West Malaysia for comparison. |

Well.
But Gerard's species comes just from Cameron Highlands, typical locality of shibatai.
Could you please send some of your Bornean specimens?
