As languages have false friends - words similar to other ones but with a completely different meaning - cerambycids also have false friends. Here it is a species nearly identical to Chromalizus afer, but it is not it. Do you know it?

Philematium calcaratum Chevr. Usually, larger than a Chromalizus afer, and the dentate femora exclude Chromalizus but indicate Philematium. A sutural stripe is present but its contrast with the elytra is less striking (not very clear on my photo due to the flashlight).
