Probably, but there are 2 others species in northern India to check.
In this paper (2nd page) authors said that Purpuricenus indus Semenov, 1908 has pubescent elytral surface.
I'm not able to go further. |

It's montanus. P. sanguinolentus and kabakovi differ greatly in character the pattern of elytra, pubescence and pronotal sculpture. |
