To continue the discussion about this strange beetles I have found a picture (unfortunately in bad quality) I made few years ago in Basel from the HT of H. alboplagiata Breuning, 1959 thus a quite different sps, see also here

Thanks a lot, Andreas, I have moved your picture in the type gallery.
Actually, this species was never identified as such, though it has often sold with this name.
In this first topic, I only wrote that Hathliolophia alboplagiata is the only species of Sulawesi, of which I had found no description in Breuning's monographs...

This species is Eczemothea pustulifera Schwarzer, 1926.

This specimen is a Syntype of the new species Eczemothea caenosa n. sp.
