Hello friends, this is a beetle which has been discussed a couple of times on a China insect forum.
It seems to be Parepepeotes marmoratus (Pic, 1925) at first sight. However, according to Hua's iconagraphic book, there are no spines at elytral suture tip for P. marmoratus.
My friend Huang think it is possibly to be P. szetschuanicus Breuning, 1969. But we don't have description for it.
Can you help us to id this creature? Thanks.

Thank you Gerard, so it might just be individual variations.
