It seems to me to observe longitudinal yellow lines on the elytra. With a so small size, it might be Crossotus erlangeri Hintz, 1912, a widely distributed species. Here you can confront it with an image from Lamiaires.
The pubescence in Crossotus erlangeri seems pretty uniform. That in my beetles is distinctly spotty. One can see nearly contrast white spots in the apical third and black ones in the basal third. I would also say, there rather yellow spots than stripes. I'll make a common photo of the whole series. Maybe it will be easier to have an impression.
You are right: the yellow lines were only my impression. It is Crossotus vagepictus (Fairmaire, 1886). I have got two specimens from Kenya in my collection... but I did not remember
