It might be O. curialis, however there are other similar species which are found in Sabah. And I don't have names on any of them, and unless you have seen or studied the holotypes then you are purely guessing at names. Included is a photo of some of the specimens I have from Sabah. Oberea clara and O. rubetra are the only two which I think I might have identified correctly. Species can usually be separated rather easily, but none of the original descriptions have much detail. By the way, I am not sure that these are all Oberea!! Many of these Oberea species have the first two ventral abdominal segements with white pubescence which is clearly mimicking a hymenopteran.

so hard to be sure even in that small complex.. But I have exemplare from Cameron Highlands just now for looking and it`s very similar to specimen from Sabah in small details from what I can tell by the small picture. O. curialis has a wide distribution, so, my assumption is only logical, nothing more.
Big bicoloured beetles in the last box look like Pseudoschoenionta as I can guess.. It's hard to say what is Oberea. If Amaurostoma is Oberea why Obereopsis is not? ^) |
