to be honest, this may be a Chrysomelid. I would call it one of those in betweeners.

Indeed: it is a Chrysomelidae (possibly, Galerucinae).

Biggest Chrysomelid I have ever seen. Well, take that back I have one from the Philippines that is 21mm.
