Francesco, Xavier, Gerard... The expert help, information and photographs on this web site are really wonderful. What I suggest is a lot of work, but would it be possible to have sub-sections under Lamiinae (like Lamiini, Mesosini) and Cerambycinae, either based on geography or tribal affiliation? Likewise, to search the holotype photos for a species from Vietnam (or somewhere else) requires a lot of time. With one or two thousand messages being posted per year, it will really be helpful. I'm sure you have considered this, but I suppose it is a lot of work. |

Dear Dan, Yes, I see, but it would need a lot of work, and personnaly, I have no time for that. With the function " search", I find or refind what I look for. The main problem is for species without ID. For helping, we could add the tribe name to the next post ?
Is it different for the "type" section ? : if we create sub-sections for genus, I am not sure that pictures will be more "visible" . If you do not know what genus you look for, the problem remain the same...
Create a large galery is a dream : now, there are thousands pictures on the forum. For extraction, formatting, storage, name, links, it is a full-time job !
It' s only my point of view, let's wait the other guys |

In many groups, tribes are changing quite frequently; genera even more frequently. Probably, everything you can do is make (obligatory?) field for new posts - Tribe & Region. But what if the author of the post has no idea...?

To me, the most logical way is to organize a collection of unknown specimens or photographs is by region and then by relation, since most of the specialists in the world are focused on a particular area. After they are identified, then they can be organized by phylogeny, of course. I started this topic because I have a lot of unidentified species from China, Philippines and elsewhere which I can place to tribe or genus. I believe many of the Philippine species have been posted already, but it takes a long time to search. And they are small species, too, which I can't photograph. |

Dear friends,
I am trying to reorganize the Forum. Now, we can insert the tribes... all will be more complicated and we risk to lose us...but we can try! |

Generally, we wrote the tribe in the topic, ...so I think it is quite the same. |

new arrangement is catastrophic There are few prioninae and dispatch them is unuseful. This kind of arrangement is good for a classification, not for a forum. old one was good
