Not in very good condition, but I think about Aegosoma ornaticolle male (White,1853) |

Well, concerning the prioninae sub-family the elytral coloration is not a true criteria. When the majority of specimens from one species are brown, a few number could be clearer. Here you have a specimen of A. ornaticolle (from China), all the morphological characters are the same. In addition, in India ornaticolle is the only species known (with may be sinicum ?) |

Thanks dear Claude Ripaille, you made my confusion clear. Please note, along with A. ornaticolle recently another species reported from India that is Aegosoma katsurai (Komiya, 2000). |

Than you for the information concerning katsurai which one is clearly different. This report was probably from the border with China. |
