Here is a species labelled as being from southern Ontario, Canada, caught in 1971. Evidently not belonging to the Canadian fauna. Either accidentally introduced or mislabeled. Any idea of what it is?
Certainly, it belongs to Pteropliini. It seems to belong to some Australian genus like Rhytiphora, maybe Saperdopsis... Considering the climate of Ontario, surely intercepted species.
Thanks for the tip, Francesco. This species is close to some appearing in the Australian Lamiinae book (Slipinski & Escalona, 2013), but it is likely something else. Rhytiphora seems right, as it has been synonymized with so many other genera.
