Hallo Jérôme, Sorry, somehow I missed your reply. Is Hyllisia damarensis Breuning not 11 segmented antennae? I was thinking in the line of Hyllisia stenideoides Pascoe 1864? based on the 12 segmented antennae and the length of the eye. Regards
Hello Riana The Hyllisia are complicated to determine .... can also look at H suturalis? However in my humble opinion damarensis and suturalis seems to belong to the same species ..... For me I do not think it is stenideoides? Concerning the antennomers I have specimens of H antennata which possess 11 and other 12 antennomers .... different species or even species for the moment I do not know anything at all? ....specify...
Hallo Jérôme, No disrespect intended in my previous post. I had noted in Breuning, 1957 that H. damarensis had 11 segmented antennae (males?). Based on your information above it is clear that the amount of antennae segments (11 or 12) is not a reliable characteristic in the identification to species level. Thank you for this information. No problem Riana I did not take this as a disrespect. It is possible that the character 11 antennomers or 12 antennomers are valid as also invalid? But for the moment I remain cautious on this aspect because I would have to see more individuals to really decide
