I have some notes regarding the publication dates for Dejean:
Dejean, P. F.M. A. 1833-1835. Catalogue des Coléoptères de la collection de M. le Comte Dejean. Deuxième édition. pp. 1-443. [1-176 = 1833; 177-256 = 1834; 257-443 = 1835].
There has been controversy about these dates, and I would like to find the latest reference. Was it Madge (1988)? There was also a paper subsequently from a specialist on Coccinellidae.
For instance: Diastocera Dejean, 1835 (page 342) is in TITAN database, and appears to be the accepted validation of the genus. |
