On the basis of which character the species Nyphasia apicalis transferred to Stenodryas.
Kindly help friend. Any literature on this? |

Holzschuh did in a note page 347 in HOLZSCHUH Carolus, 1984.Beschreibung von 24 neuen Bockkäfern aus Europa und Asien, vorwiegend aus dem Himalaya (Coleoptera, Cerambycidae. Entomologica Basiliensa 9: 340-372, 27 figs.

Nobody transferred Nyphasia apicalis to Stenodryas !
It is only an error of TitanBase (here).
Stenodryas apicalis n. comb. is not based on Nyphasia apicalis Gahan, 1893 but on Ceresium apicale Gahan, 1906 !
Therefore, the correct names are:
1) Nyphasia apicalis Gahan, 1893 (loc. typ. Canara, South India)
2) Stenodryas apicalis (Gahan, 1906)
= Ceresium apicale Gahan, 1906 (loc. typ. Tenasserim)
Please check BioLib for taxonomic problems. |
