In this paper, MAKIHARA Hiroshi & WORO Noerdjito A., 2004. Longicorn beetles of Museum Zoologicum Bogoriense, identified by Dr. E.F. Gilmour, 1963 (Coleoptera: Disteniidae and Cerambycidae). Bulletin of the Forestry and Forest Products Research Institute, Ibaraki (3) 1 (390): 49-98. I found several species without any existence in any database.
n° 169 : 169. Bacchisa babakensis Gilmour et Breuning n°170 : Astathes (Tetraophthalmus) javaensis Gilmour et Breuning n° 178 : Eustathes javaensis Gilmour et Breuning etc What are those species ?
They are not in GILMOUR E. Forrest & BREUNING Stephan, 1963. New Indonesian Lamiinae (Coleoptera, Cerambycidae). Treuhia 26 (2): 123-132, 2 pls. |

I think Gilmour was convicted of theft from BMNH, right? These names are all worthless, in my opinion.
I think a lot of the material which he identified is also questionable. Even today, we struggle with names of species from Indonesia. |
