Some Demonax martes showing variation of markings.

The 2nd specimen in the first photo has extra black markings.

D. martes, just like D. mustela, has the base of the elytra completely reddish-brown.

D. martes has " head with a raised line in front". I found that feature on my only one specimen. D. mustela has a furrow. It could be the best feature to separate the 2 species, because of changing patterns on elytra.

In the description of D.martes, Pascoe wrote : " Legs blackish, posterior tarsi and last four joints of the antennae whitish, the rest of antennae black."
My specimen from Sarawak has last antennomera black. What about your specimens ? Not clear on your pictures, but it seems the same...

Comparing to the holotypes pictures of both species from BMNHN :
n°1 is Demonax mustela (Pascoe, 1858)
n°2 is Demonax martes Pascoe, 1869
