Location: Kerala, I happen to collect the various stages of this ferocious beetle from a fallen wood log... Adults with serrated pronotum, spiny legs, sharply pointed claws and robust larvae with strong mandibles are quite difficult to handle...they literally rip off the skin if one is not cautious while handling them... In connection with this post, I'm looking for the information published by Duffy (1968), as requested here... kindly share the article if any one has one... |
