Maybe the same species, both from Gunung Emas, Crocker Range, Sabah, Borneo.
Thanks,

The 2nd one fits with the description of Demonax angustatus Pic, 1943, but I have never seen the holotype ( Who did ? ) or with Demonax pendleburyi Fisher, 1935... Then, I am not sure that all similar species described by Dauber are all good species: ( Demonax antennarius Dauber, 2016 ; Demonax arcanus Dauber, 2016 ; Demonax cinereus Dauber, 2004; Demonax crinifer Dauber, 2012; Demonax olei Dauber, 2008;...).
Maybe the same species ? Good question ! This group from Borneo is the hardest one, and a complete revision is necessary. But some contemporary authors do not care, and continue to describe new species ! I wonder if our "science" is a science... |
