Loc: Kerala; size: 8 mm; ventral side entirely black except the prosternum... is it Nupserha nitidior?

Yes, it fits with the description in Breuning's Revision (1960): Nupserha nitidior Pic, 1939 ; it is the morpha atroreductipennis Breuning, 1955 with 2/3 of elytron black.
