Bonjour,

Afin de pouvoir travailler sur des descriptions dernièrement publiées, j'aurai besoin d'avoir un contact susceptible de traduire une publication en russe....

TITARENKO Andrey Yurievich,2017. Contribution to the knowledge of Caribbean species of the longicorn beetles genus Callipogon Audient-Serville, 1832 (Coleoptera, Cerambycidae) - Proceedings of the Kuban State Agrarian University, 1 (64) : 147-157.

Merci beaucoup pour votre aide par avance.

I am very curious about the 10 pages of this article and what is the "contribution" that the author refers to.

Norbert je te fais parvenir un mail avec le texte qui est en fait une opinion de Sergio Devesa sur le contenu original.
Je n'ai pas la traduction du texte descriptif.

Hi Capitaine,

Can you send me Sergio's opinion as well?
Do you have Titarenko's paper?

Sincerely

Dan

Thank you Claude,

I doubt if the paper by Titarenko has any merits.

What he has done, instead of contributing to the knowledge of Callipogon, is to create nomenclatural confusion that may require an act from ICZN.

Dear alls,
I just see this post, so sorry for my late answer.

When I received the paper of Titarenko (sent by Anton), I was very surprised and sent to him my first reaction. I suppose that my e-mail was private, but it seems Anton and Titarenko started to spread it in order to promote the "new species". I contacted Titarenko and he very aggressively refused to give me details about the real differences between the species.

I strongly believe the paper is a fake and I fully agree with Dryobius that only creates confusion.

I am preparing a paper to clarify the situation. I have a lot of specimens from Cuba and some from Dominic Republic. But I need some specimens from Puerto Rico. I very much appreciate if somebody can help me and loan specimens from Puerto Rico.

Sincerely
Sergio Devesa
