Only one species in Borneo : Hirtaeschopalaea borneensis Breuning, 1963. I do not know if it is the right one. Who can translate this description?
BREUNING S., 1963. Neue Lamiinae aus dem Museum G. Frey (Col. Ceramb.). Entomologische Arbeiten aus dem Museum G. Frey, Tutzing bei München 14 (1). |

There is at least one more species in Borneo.
I have several H. albolineata from there. I also have borneensis. They are quite different from each other. |

My H. albolineata from Laos have no white antenna, and less hairs on elytra. Because Hirtaeschopalaea albolineata Pic, 1925 has been described from Vietnam, I am not sure it is the same species in Borneo... |

This is not H. borneensis. H. albolineata is the name given to me by Holzschuh in 2005. The amount of white hair varies from a small amount to what is seen in this photo above. The markings on the pronotum are just like mine. Is there a photo of the holotype somewhere? |

I do not know; I just say that species from continent are usualy different from those from Borneo, and it would therefore be interesting to compare this species with specimens from Vietnam & Laos (even if Holzschuh gave you a name in 2005).
I have no picture of the HT of H. albolineataPic, but I will try to find it at MNHN in February.
For the moment, do you have a good picture of a specimen from Borneo ? We could try to compare...

...sibling specimens apparently, but it prooves nothing, as we know. |

No, I don't have a good picture of my two species from Sabah.
I have 3 specimens from Borneo. One is very hairy, one has very little hair.
The intricate lines on the pronotum are the same on all three specimens.
