Thank you Dan for your help. This one from Tawau looks indeed like pubiventre. It has some pubescence underneath but I compared with Holzschuh's paratypes and I see these have not a flat elytral disc as we can see on pubiventre or Sumatra's carinatum. Antennae first segments are also different. I agree that these species are already so difficult to do in hand, so only a photograph is not enough. Anyway this step will make me look closer.
