... I reach Prosoplus similis Breuning, 1961.

Prosopus strandiellus is larger (15-17 mm) and the pronotum shows two teeth in front of each side.

Prosoplus metallicus (Pic, 1935) (= salomonum Breuning, 1938) shows a longitudinal hairless band.

The species published by Vives et al. (2008) shows a pubescent dark band on the pronotum; thus, is actually P. intermissus (Pascoe, 1864), a widespread species in New Guinea, of which I have hundreds of specimens.
This species is also figured in Vitali & Casadio (2007: Fig. 9-10)
I remarked this error during the review, but the author preferred to obtusely remain in his own error.

P. salomonum has no hairless longitudinal band (maybe is'nt syn to metallicus) furthermore I found a (bad) pict of P. similis from ZMB (det. Breuning) ????

Breuning, 1963, Revision der Pteropliini: 114

P. salomonum does have hairless longitudinal band just according to Breuning, who is its descriptor.

Maybe is not synonym of metallicus (described from Yunnan, where no Prosoplus is widespread... apart the fact that the type is in Paris and Breuning worked there), but this is another question.
