today I got an intuition : it is Monstropalpus helleri (Franz, 1953) (belongs to Xylorhizini recently, but this needs verification) |

It would be interesting to understand what environmental or behavioural constraints this species had to face in order to develop such a morphological character !! |

Well, do you have the paper FRANZ Elli, 1953.Eine neue Lamiide aus Neu-Guinea, Giganteopalpus helleri n. gen. n. sp. (Ins. Col.). Senckenbergiana, Frankfurt am Main 34 (1/3): 37-39, 2 figs. ?
There is an illustration of this species inside... |
