Sofala Prov. Mozambique

I am having a tough time with this one. There is a white line laterally on the pronotum and elytra. The genae are very short.

Hello

Is it possible to get a side picture?
And is the 3rd article as long or longer than the scape?

Thank you

Here is a lateral view of another specimen in the series. The scape and 3rd are subequal.

Good morning

I have a feeling that your Agapanthini belongs either to the genus Trichohyllisia or to the genus Eohyllisia and maybe its alboineata species? What do you think? If it seems correct to you I'm looking in that direction. However stupid it may sound, look also at Hippopsicon victoria ssp transvaaliensis ? Though it's a long shot!

Thank you. I was leaning towards Eohyllisia but will check the others, I will look at Breuning's Agapanthiini monograph later today.

Many characters fit for Eohyllisia albolineata Breuning. The one thing that is interesting is that the lower eye lobe is 1.5-2x as long as the gena when they should be equal.

Okay great! The character of the lower lobes of the eyes is not always valid and sometimes questionable. If it is valid in some groups and even between some species in some genera African Agapanthini are particularly complicated to study and the characters are questionable
