The key by Lepesme & Breuning (1956) is - as usual -misleading since both Paulianometallyra and Saphanidus show III antennomere longer than IV (not as long as in Paulianometallyra!). Thank to the specimens preserved in the Museum Luxembourg, I can observe that Saphanidus shows a strong pronotal spine and cylindrical antennae, while Paulianometallyra shows a minute pronotal spine and flattened antennae.
