With Breuning revision, it should be Macrochenus tonkinensis Aurivillius, 1920.
" tonkineus" of Pic is a mistake, instead of "tonkinensis". |

In my opinion, this is a dark form of M. isabellinus.

I don't think so, the length of the eyes does not correspond, neither the pronotum, etc. I will add photographs to show it. |

I changed picture to compare with this specimen from Laos, and with the specimen from MNHN. At least, mesosternum is different:

Thus, it is a valid species (M. semijunctus) as Breuning wrote.
In all cases, it has nothing to do with assamensis or tonkinensis. |
