Visible segments of 6 if you count sternit under postpigidium which is not indrawn inside. Penis with strongly converging sides, not parallel, with a obtuse pointed apex. Processes of the parameres very short (in my view), flattened distally with a rounded edge and with long dense setae. |

It seems to correspond to a male of Aphrodisium, but I do not know this species (if it has been described). |

Thank you very match, Francesco! Really, it is similar to Aphrodisium. Unfortunately, I have A. cantori and A. faldermanni only. |

Your spec. is Aphrodisium gibbicolle White, 1853. You are sure with the location? It is the southernmost locality for this spec.! Here the pronotum from the HT (BMNH) by U. Schmidt/ Germany

Hallo Max. I think this common species is widespread in South East Asia, but the fauna of Cameron Highlands is often endemic. Another spec. with the same structure of the pronotum is found in S-China (Yunnan) and N-Laos and is associated with A. gibbicolle. A sure differentiation is only by genital study. It could be that it is your exemplar another spec. of this group ? See also http://www.cerambycoidea.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=12365 other localities of A. gibbicolle are next Vietnam also Myanmar and Bangladesh.
