They are separated by the size of the 3rd antennal segment and it's relation in size to the length of the pronotum and the 4th antennal segment.

So, on a structural base, not by coloration. I am not an expert but have noticed that colours and elytral markings may vary and are not always good for identifications. Thanks again, Larry !!! |

Yes, I agree, there can be considerable variation in coloration.
