Then, I will make you several proposals .... because I am not sure of anything.
Look at a form of P maculicollis which is very variable but I don't think so?
Otherwise you also have P erythaca which is generally very stable and therefore in this case it would mean that it is variable in coloration. The general rule is that erythaca has an entirely orange head and the rest is black with gray pubescence
And there is P flavovittata which looks a bit like it but I don't believe it at all! In spite of everything look at it all the same?
P densepuncticeps which seems to me the most probable! The variation in this species with orange and black tones are regularly observed although South African Phytoecia are rare in the collections ....

Here is not better than what I write above ....

Jérôme

Hi Jérôme, thanks, the closest I get to is P flavovittata, although there are also differences. We have a series of this specimen from the Northern Cape and southern Namibia with very little to no variability between them.

Well, you know what? I actually have a specimen in my collection from Cape Hoeck Pass.... that I had determined desperately P densepuncticeps....it's probably not that so I'll look it up! It must be a form of a known species I guess! I'll look for it!
