It is about an Apomecynini, but it is very difficult from this position (and without specimen!) |

Coming back to this topic... your specimen might belong to the genus Vitalisia. Here a picture from Breuning's monograph of Apomecynini (1964).

Another possibility !
Zotale unicolor [Holotype in the British Museum, but not a good photograph]
Any serious student of Cerambycidae should try to visit a museum in Europe or somewhere and photograph type specimens. Even the photos I took at BMNH with a small cheap camera have been extremely useful to me.

Hallo Dan and Francesco. The "surrounding area" of Mycerinopsis is very difficult. For me is it Zotale unicolor Pascoe,1866. A better picture from the Type is here. |

Thank you Dan and Andre. I agree with you; however, the species should be new for Malaysia!
For those who follow us, I remind that Zotale is a subgenus of Mycerinopsis.
Vitalia is a closely related genus with only one species in Indochina, originally described as Zotale. The difference between these genera are the mesocoxal cavities: open (Mycerinopsis) or closed (Vitalisia). Breuning (1960) described another species from Sumatra. Actually, it might be a synonym of some Mycerinopsis-species.
