Yes, I think so. I based my determination on Breuning's revision, but I have not seen the holotype of P.subcostata. I collected these specimens together with others. I have several male and female specimens of this species from different parts of Laos. The dorsal hairiness of the elytra varies, but the constants remain the same: large size, colouration of the antennae and tarsi, lateral elytral ribs, punctation, eye size, etc. The males have a spur at the apex of the intermediate tibiae, unlike Pterolophia melanura, the species that seems closest to me.
