Coming back to this topic, the specimen at left is Ioesse rubra (Pic, 1925) and that at right Ioesse sanguinolenta.

Taking into account the swelling at apical antennal segments 3-6, both look like sanguinolenta...

What makes you think the left specimen is rubra, Francesco?

I observed the different shape of the black spots at both sides of the scutellum.

I guess physical characteristics should prevail over color differences. This being said, maybe the distribution map of the genus can help:

143.48 KB

This map is from OHBAYASHI & LIN, 2012: A review of the Asian genera of the Petrognathini, with description of a New Species and proposal of a new Synonym.

According to that paper, sanguinolenta seems to be restricted to the Malaysian Peninsula. Where are your specimens from, Gyula?

191.04 KB

Malaisie, Perak, Tapah Hills, 41 mm
