This species was recently described as Dorysthenes incognitus Hergovits, 2019.

Antennae 12-articulated, anterior margin of the pronotal apical spine smooth in males: this is Dorysthenes phupanensis Hergovits, 2020

Mais le 4ème antennomère de ce mâle atteint les épaules des élytres, ce qui ne colle pas avec la définition de Dorysthenes phupanensis Hergovits, 2020 (voir le tableau comparatif dans l'article).
