I have this species from several localities in Tanzania.
So, it should not be rare, but I have never seen any photo.

Crossotus plumicornis Audinet-Serville, 1835: it is really a crazy beetle!
Actually, there are also some other species, recognisable from the development of the fringed hairs on the antennal joints (1-3; 1-4; 1-5).
