Beh... species of the same genus oft are very similar among them... and Pteropliini are surely no exception! In Tanzania there is only another species: S. puncticornis Fairmaire, 1891, which differs from cylindrator in the longer prothorax, the smaller scutellum, and the elytra largely obscured at base and apex. According to me, this specimen belongs to cylindrator. |
