Hello
I'm having troubles with this species.
Is it Prosopocera (alphitophola)? If so... which one? I can't figure it out.

Yes, maybe, but I don't have much interest in the varieties that Pierre had described, I made him notice it, but it was difficult to make him understand that they didn't have any scientific value anymore, in spite of insisting on it, the frequency of the descriptions of varieties decreased with the time.... so he listened a little to what he was told. |

Thanks Jérôme. You nailed it. In particular it is the form Gymnostylus signatus m. jadoti Teocchi, 1998.

Tragocephalini wast my first thougth, but I have browsed all the images I could find online for all the Tragocephalini species, and nothing resembled... It's true that many are not represented anywhere, but then I don't know which publication should take a look at or even if I could access to. I would say that it's not Tragocephala. Protonotum matches, especially with the blunt spikes on each side, but then the body looks like too thin and large for me. A Different propotions and shape between this one and the Tragocephala spp in my unexpert opinion. Are the body proportions and sape of the head that leaned me more towards Prosopocerini... Thanks for the help.

I suspect it belongs to Tragocephalini.
There are species with a similar colour pattern, like, e.g, Tragocephala mixta. |

Thanks for your answer. I have a specimen from Malawi labeled as murphyi. Looks nothing like this. I can't read the original description of murphyi because I don't have free access to the publication, but, apparently, this species occurs in Malawi and this specimen comes from Cameroon. So my best guess it's not that one.
