Could they be 2 species after all... ?

I noticed the banding on the femora but variation can drive you nuts sometimes. Thanks

Heller has described 2 taxa : Demonax nigrofasciatus var. nigroscutellaris Heller, 1916 fig. 10 = Demonax diversofasciatus Heller, 1916 fig. 12 in Titan database.
I have both in collection, and I do not see differences apart the drawing.
