Cette espece de Chine me semble plus proche de Ceresium fuscum Matsumura & Matsushita, 1932 que de Ceresium sinicum White, 1855 au pronotum toujours moins allongé (cf faune du Japon, Ohbayashi & Niisato, 2007). Les spécimens de C.fuscum des petites îles japonaises ont cependant un habitus plus sombre.
