5 mm. Hua Phan, nord Laos.

01.V for all my 4 specimens of P. elongatothorax , idem for 5 Procleomenes mioleucus (same locality)
Francesco Posted - 07/03/2018 : 15:39:03
Could you furnish me collection data (e.g. habitat, time) in order to define the phenology of this genus?
Xaurus Posted - 01/01/2015 : 23:01:53
I have 6 spms of mioleucus, the apex is a bit rounded, only in 1 spm (female) the apex is somewhat oblique with a light spiny outer corner.
From elongatithorax I have 9 spms all with the nearly same coloration of the legs, hind tibia with basal half withish and the apical half light brown more or less up to the middle, in middle and fore tibia the same but less remarkable and sometimes complete light brown. The elytral apex oblique truncated (sometimes very weak concave) with inner and outer egde pointed.

As concerns your series of P. elongatithorax, do you see some variability in the elytral apices and colour of tibiae?
horshehden Posted - 31/12/2014 : 07:36:28
I agree that the Gerard's specimen, as well as specimen here agrees well with the description of P.mioleucus - except the elytral apex:

More or less rounded in my series from Laos v. gerade abgestutzt mit sehr gut markierter Aussen und Nahtecke - is it a species variability?
Xaurus Posted - 30/12/2014 : 23:58:35
If have a series of Procleomenes elongatithorax Gressitt & Rondon, 1970 and can confirm Xavier's spms: all of my spms are with the same elytral pattern and the legs colouration.
Opposite Gerard's spm belongs to Procleomenes mioleucus Holzschuh, 1998.

Oui, c'est une autre espèce.
Peux-tu créer un nouveau post, Gérard ?
