I agree with you Larry even if the color of the specimen from Surinam( on your site) is different. I only have one specimen from Bolivia, much more reddish. Also with erect hairs at apex of elytra. Many thanks Larry for your help on my specimens.

I am pretty sure this is Thoracibidion io (Thomson, 1967).
